1. Recognised Training Organisation

The Sydney Maritime Institute is a division of the Club Sail Pty. Ltd. Superyacht Crew Adademy; a nationally Recognised Training Organisation (RTO registration no. 91462) as well as a NSW Roads and Maritime Services and ASQA approved training provider. This means we are accredited to teach and issue the training certificates required. Crew will be eligible to undertake an AMPA as part of their training course (AMSA Mandated Practical Assessment) and apply for an Australian Certificate of Competency issued by AMSA.
 

2. Dual certifications

The training programme for the Australian General Purpose Hand certification will qualify you for the IYT Deckhand certificatioin recognized by the Maritime Coastguard Agency of the United Kingdom (MCA), the US Coastguard, and 25 Governments around the world, allowing you to work on Superyachts around the world. The training programs for the a Master <24 m NC certification will also qualify you for the International Yacht Training certification for Master of Yachts 200ton.
